LG Optimus Q2 launching in South Korea

If you’re living in South Korea, the good news is that LG will be launching their LG Optimus Q2 QWERTY slider handset. It appears to be the successor to the QWERTY slider, the LU2300, that was seen last year. It looks like LG has not given up on QWERTY keyboards just yet, which is probably great news for those who are fans of physical keyboards as opposed to on-screen ones.

In terms of specs, the Optimus Q2 will be running on a 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor under the hood, with a 4” IPS-based LCD display. It will also feature a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front camera and will be running on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3. For those concerned about size and thickness, it appears that the Optimus Q2 is said to be a tenth of an inch thinner and 0.35 ounces lighter than its predecessor, the LU2300. It is expected to launch in South Korea next week, although no word on if it will be making its way to the rest of the world any time soon.
