HTC sues Apple using Google’s patents

Does anyone else think the patent wars are starting to get a bit out of hand? For a while it seemed like Apple was the one doing all the suing, but now it seems that HTC has entered the fray and is suing Apple over patent infringements, targeting the iPhone, iPad, Mac computers, iPod, iCloud and iTunes specifically.

It appears that HTC bought over the rights to some patents from Google, which were previously owned by Motorola, and then used those patents to sue Apple. They are claiming that Apple has infringed upon their patents to upgrade software wirelessly; a way to transfer data between a microprocessor and a support chip; a method to store user preferences, and a way to provide consistent contact between application software and a radio modem.

So far there has been no news regarding the progress of the case or how Apple has responded, so stay tuned and we will keep you updated!
