Dell Streak 7 to get Honeycomb 3.2?
While Dell may have bid the Streak 5 a tearful goodbye, they have not forgotten about the Streak 7. Under the hood the Streak 7 has some decent specs, but we’re guessing that the 800×480 resolution may have turned some potential customers away, what with the Super AMOLED displays floating around in the market nowadays.
We’re also guessing that the Android Froyo 2.2 platform is a huge turn off as well, but that may be changing soon as word has it that Dell has plans to start rolling out updates for their Streak 7 device. The update is expected to bring the device from a lowly Froyo 2.2 all the way past Gingerbread and right smack into Honeycomb 3.2! That’s a pretty huge update!
Several demo units spotted at IFA were running on Honeycomb 3.2, which may explain how this speculation came about. Do you think you could look past the 800×480 screen resolution if the device came loaded up with Honeycomb 3.2, or is display a bigger purchase factor?

Dell Venue Pro on the receiving end of Windows Phone Tango update
The Dell Venue Pro comes has one advantage this time around, where it is on the receiving end of the Windows Phone Tango update. After all, this is not exactly the newest smartphone around, and to see the hardware still being supported is definitely worth a look. The Venue Pro is nearly a couple of years in age, and has the virtue of being one of the first Windows Phone powered devices to arrive at the market, so to see it being supported by the latest updates is always an encouraging sight.
To date, it was revealed that only one user in Germany was on the receiving end of this update on his handset, although others should follow suit pretty soon. Do bear in mind that this is not the Windows Phone 7.8 update which was promised to current Windows Phone 7.5-powered devices, and there is no certainty that this particular device will receive the update as well. Still, to see Dell extend such support is always worth mulling over.
