Apple requests Motorola lawsuit to be put on hold

Apple has been on the warpath lately with their lawsuits that seem to target Samsung specifically. However they have been on the receiving end too and are currently being sued by Motorola Mobility, which recently has been acquired by Google. This recent acquisition is the reason why Apple is asking the courts to put the lawsuit on hold until the acquisition has been finalized.

It seems that due to patents being acquired by Google through the deal, according to Apple, this pretty much leaves Motorola Mobility with no claim over those patents. No word on what the court’s decision is, but it looks like Apple may be waiting to build their defense while waiting for the Google/Motorola deal to go through, and will wait and see if Google decides to try Apple again.
