If you frequent one of the 7,000 7-11 outlets across America, you will be interested to know that 7-11 has teamed up with T-Mobile and will now be selling the LG GS170. Available for $29.99 (including taxes and fees), the LG GS170 is not a smartphone but rather a pretty basic feature phone and will feature a VGA camera, MP3 ringtone capabilities, Bluetooth 2.1, text and picture messaging capabilities, and email support. In fact if you were to purchase a 50 minute airtime prepaid card, the LG GS170 will be available to you at half the price.
While it’s not exactly great news for those living in the States and who probably have access to much better smartphones, it’s a cheap and convenient solution for travelers visiting the US who wish to get their hands on a prepaid device, and considering the number of 7-11 retail outlets in the US, finding one should not be an issue.
