Sharp Galapagos to launch in Japan in August
It appears that the Japanese version of the Galapagos has recently been launched and has been spotted running on Android’s Honeycomb 3.2 operating system, which is the latest variant of Honeycomb that was specifically created for tablets of the 7” variety.
It also packs an Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 7-inch 1024 x 600 resolution display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, GPS, 2MP / 5MP front and rear cameras with flash, microSD and micro HDMI ports and various sensors that include a gryoscope, accelerometer and light sensor.
No word on how much it will retail for in Japan although it is expected to retail come August. Let’s hope that the US version will follow shortly.
