Samsung hires CyanogenMod founder

CyanogenMod founder and lead developer, Steve Kondik, is now on the payroll of Samsung Mobile after the company picked him up. According to Kondik, he will not stop all work on CyanogenMod, but it will be a “side project” now, where the project will not be affiliated with Samsung in any way so that there is a clear separation between his hobby as well as his bread and butter.

Just in case you are new to the Android scene, CyanogenMod is actually one of the most popular ROM packages for Android-powered devices simply because it is able to support a wide variety of platforms without being unstable, and works speedily enough that you won’t tear your hair out in frustration. Interesting times are ahead, that’s for sure – I for one cannot wait to see what Steve is going to roll out in due time.
