Majority of Verizon users holding out for iPhone 5

A small survey was conducted recently by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster and the results indicated that a staggering 74% of Verizon subscribers are holding out buying an iPhone in anticipation of the iPhone 5.

It’s not surprising given how fast the tech world is moving these days, what could be a hot phone three months ago could easily be taken over by a bigger, shinier and newer phone with little to no effort, so given the rumors surrounding a fall release of the next-generation iPhone, it’s safe to say that most users would rather cling on to dying, older phones than buy an iPhone 4 only to find out its successor has been released just 3 months later.

Given that the rumors have indicated a September (or maybe even October) release, iPhone 3GS users or feature phone users looking to make the jump will only have to hang in there for a few more months.
