iPad 3 with retina display confirmed for 2012?

According to the Wall Street Journal, they have claimed to have confirmed that the iPad 3 will be seeing a retina display and will be launched next year.

It’s no secret that many iPad 2 users were disappointed that the device did not come shipped with the same retina display that was found on the iPhone 4, but despite that the tablet went on to see a huge success, so we can’t imagine what it will be like next year if the iPad 3 really gets the rumored retina display.

Current iPad and iPad 2s are seeing a 9.7” display with 1024×768 resolution, so next year’s iPad 3 will hopefully be seeing a 9.7” display with 2048×1536 resolution. We’re guessing that this will most probably be happening, especially since the 7” Super AMOLED display for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab refresh has been confirmed, it would not look good for Apple to put out an inferior display amongst today’s Super AMOLED displays.
