Samsung Galaxy R to make its UK debut in a few weeks

A while back we had reported on the Samsung Galaxy Z, which was essentially a lower-end version of the Galaxy S II. Do not be mistaken though as it still packs quite a punch and could give other handsets a run for their money, although it definitely is not on par with its older brother, the Galaxy S II.

However as word would have it, the device is actually being called the Galaxy R, and it pretty much features the same hardware specs that we had reported on the Galaxy Z. For those who might not remember, the Galaxy R will feature a screen size of 4.2-inches (just .1-inches shy of the Galaxy S II), an SLCD display (as opposed the SAMOLED Plus display on the Galaxy S II) and a dual-core processor that’s rumored to be NVidia’s Tegra-2 (the Galaxy S II features Samsung’s Exynos processor). It also features a 5MP camera capable of shooting at up to 720p (Galaxy S II is packing 8MP with 1080p video recording), and is said to be ever-so-slightly thicker than the Galaxy S II.

No word on when it will be available or how much it will cost, unless of course our previous report was true, and we’re not sure if we will be seeing the Galaxy R in the States, although based on its specs and its supposed wallet-friendly price, it ought to be welcome with open arms.
