Mango XNA Screen Refresh Rate Can Now Go Up To 60Hz

We’re not sure what kind of devices Microsoft and their partners have planned for Windows Phone 7, but we’re thinking they will be powerhouses. It seems that Microsoft has recently lifted the restrictions on XNA code which had previously prevented games running on the Windows Phone 7 platform to display more than 30fps.

Since native apps on Windows Phone 7 have been targeted to display 60fps, with the lifting of this restriction, we’re guessing that this should enable third party developers to put out games that are smoother too, which is only a good thing as smoother running games will provide a better user experience overall. Either way with the restrictions lifted, we can’t wait to see what sort of WP7 devices will be available, but also the apps and games developed for it too.
