iRiver smartphone and tablet leaked

For those who are unaware, iRiver is a Korean brand that used to make MP3 players, but judging by its looks now, they seem to be producing Android smartphones and tablets too. The iRiver smartphone that the company has planned is called the iRiver Vanilla and it will be featuring a 3.5-inch WVGA LCD display, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth along with 4GB of storage. No word on what the processor is, although we don’t expect it to be amazing given the rest of the specs.

The tablet is called…yes you guessed it right, Tab. Not exactly the most creative name and we have to admit the specs aren’t exactly fantastic either. It is 3G capable, Flash-ready while sporting a 7-inch LCD and running a rumored 1GHz Hummingbird processor with a 5 megapixel camera with up to 32GB of expandable storage and Bluetooth. While we’re guessing that they probably won’t be competing with another Korean company, Samsung, for high-end devices, they appear be somewhat entry-mid ranged.

The bad news is that they come with Android Froyo 2.2, which seems a bit odd since a lot of companies are beginning to upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3. The devices are set to be sold in Korea and we’re not sure if they will be making their way to the States any time soon.
