The HTC HD2, for those who have forgotten, is a 1GHz Snapdragon powered device, featuring a 4.3-inch display screen, 576MB RAM, 5-megapixel camera, 1GB storage with the possibility for expansion up to 32GB, while running on Microsoft’s abandoned Windows Mobile 6.5 platform. The good news is that if you’re still holding on to this device, and if you’re curious about what the fuss regarding Windows Phone 7’s Mango update is about, developers have managed to create a Mango ROM for your device.
However there will be some features missing, such as the Marketplace, search and HTML5 rendering for Internet Explorer. If this sounds like something you could do without for now, keep an eye out for it at XDA Developers, although some are speculating that the ROM should be released some time this week. It has also been reported that there might be Mango ROMs for other Windows Mobile devices that will be able to support it.
