Has The iPad 2 Finally Been Jailbroken?

Published

on

The iPad 2 has been near impossible to jailbreak since day one of its release, but that has not deterred people from trying, and we guess their determination has paid off in what looks like a leaked released of Comex’s iPad 2 jailbreak method. Comex, for those of you who are unfamiliar, is the developer who was responsible for the first iPhone 4 jailbreak last year on the site jailbreakme.com. Now it looks like he has managed to do the same for the iPad 2, after reporting via Twitter that he has been working on it.

According to the leak, the jailbreak should work on iOS 4.3.3 or earlier. If you’re running an iOS 5 beta, then you’re out of luck. While the method is reported to by Comex’s work, he has not officially come forward claiming it to be his, which means if you decide to attempt this, it will be at your own risk as it could be a ruse to install malware onto your device. However there have been reports that it does work, so if you’re really interested in getting your iPad 2 jailbroken, just head on down to RedmondPie’s website for a full set of instructions.
