Augen, for those who are unfamiliar with the company, used to build budget-friendly devices such as Android tablets and e-book readers. It was only a few months back that the company released an Android-powered netbook, the GenBook108, which apparently did not live up to customer expectations in the form of cheap hardware and poor build quality. I guess that’s what you get for $100.
Now it looks like the company may have called it quits, as their website has been down for a month, and the company is apparently no longer returning emails or phone calls. It looks like another budget device-maker has bitten the dust and we’re guessing fans of Augen will be very disappointed.
