AT&T officially announces data throttling

Published

A couple of days ago we reported that there were whisperings that AT&T might start to throttle the data on some of their data hogging customers and as it turns out it is now official. While the plans are still technically unlimited, AT&T will be throttling the speeds of users who have exceed the threshold although what that limit is was not revealed. It is not known at what speeds it will be capped at although some are speculating probably less than 256kbps. The speeds will remain capped until the next billing cycle. This will go into effect come October 1st.

So if you’re a huge downloader on your mobile device, you best start downloading as much as you can before October 1st while the cap is still not in effect.
