Apple fixes JailbreakMe.com exploit with iOS 4.3.4
For jailbroken iOS fans, you probably have used JailbreakMe.com’s latest jailbreak to crack open your iOS device, and if you have been following the news, you probably have also read up on the fact that JailbreakMe.com uses an exploit in Safari in order to achieve the jailbreak. It’s also that same exploit that could potentially allow malicious users and websites access to your phone.
Ironically enough, it seems that in order to protect yourself from that exploit, you would have to jailbreak your device, as the developers behind the jailbreak have put out a patch that should “patch up” the security hole, which meant that non-jailbroken iOS devices would be susceptible to attacks.
The good news is that Apple has indeed worked fast at providing a patch for the exploit with iOS 4.3.4, so for those who have yet to patch their non-jailbroke iOS device, they should probably do that right away.
