Amazon tablets to be ready by October?

As we all know, Amazon has plans for a series of Android tablets and the only thing to leak out about the tablets, is that one of them is codenamed “Hollywood” and it will be 10-inches in size. Amazon has been pretty quiet about the affair, which I guess is a good thing as they’re trying to keep things under wraps until they’re ready, a strategy that is favored strongly by Apple.

Well it seems that according to the Wall Street Journal who has heard from sources “familiar with the matter”, that the tablets will be good to go by October. This seems to coincide with the other rumors and speculations that have pointed at the Amazon tablets to be released in Q3 of 2011.

The rumors are also saying that instead of the Texas Instruments processor that was originally reported to power the devices, it will be NVidia’s Tegra-3 quad-core processor that will be under the hood instead. It’s hard to tell who is correct, so I guess we will have to wait and see.
