Winamp For Android Gets Updated

Published

on

It’s been a while since the name Winamp has been mentioned, thanks to various other media players being available and now that iTunes has been making their mark, but good news for Winamp fans because it looks like the app has been updated for Android devices, bringing the version to 1.1 now, and along with the update a whole slew of features that should be rather appealing.

Winamp for Android now features key AOL Music discovery franchises including free music downloads (Spinner’s MP3 of the Day) and full album streaming of new releases through AOL Music’s Full CD Listening Party (CDLP). Other notable new features include:

• Improved SHOUTcast & streaming playback through a new native media engine
• Ability to add MP3 of the Day and CDLP tracks to play queue
• Now Playing & Home screen redesign
• Browse by genre
• Album art gesturing for track change
• Integration with Android “Listen to” voice actions
• Available in 14 languages

If you want to get your hands on the update or the app itself, just head on down to the Android Market and download your copy.
