Toshiba Postpones AT300 Tablet For Honeycomb 3.1

A month ago we reported that Toshiba was delaying the AT300 tablets because they were holding out for quad-core processors. Well as it turns out they were delaying the launch of the Regza AT300 because they were actually holding out for the Android Honeycomb 3.1 platform, which is good news for those who were looking to get their hands on the device because now they will be able to get the tablet with the latest Android Honeycomb operating system loaded on it and won’t have to worry about waiting for updates.

Instead of being released as the Regza AT300/23C, it will now be released as the AT300/24C and there’s actually no difference in hardware specs – both will be running on a NVidia Tegra-2 dual-core processor featuring 16GB of internal memory, a 10.1-inch 1280×800 screen and will be running on Honeycomb 3.1. While the AT300/23C has been cancelled it looks like there will still be a couple of that particular model that will be instead distributed to businesses who were planning to use it as a business tool.

So, delayed for a update to the Honeycomb 3.1 operating, worth the wait?
