T-Mobile’s G2 Nearing End Of Life?

Published

on

T-Mobile’s G2 is less than a year old but according to the photo above, it looks like T-Mobile has already classified the device as reaching the end of its life. Apparently users are unable to locate the device on T-Mobile’s website and customers will have a hard time trying to find it in the stores too. The device has yet to receive the Gingerbread update too, although T-Mobile has said that it was in the works, although hard to say how dedicated they will be to pushing out Gingerbread updates for a phone they consider to be dying.

For those who forgot about the G2, it is the successor to the G1 which is considered to be the worlds first Android phone. It features a slideout keyboard, 3.7-inch display with 480×800 resolution, a 5MP camera and is powered by a 800MHz Qualcomm processor. At least it came shipped with Android’s Froyo 2.2 instead of Eclair 2.1. No word on when T-Mobile plans to completely phase the device out but by all accounts it looks like it’s already headed there in a slow and rather quiet manner.
