Sliding Keyboard, WP7’s Answer To Swype

Published

on

Android users should be familiar with Swype, a tool created for Android phones which allows users to “swype” across the on-screen keyboard to form words quickly without having to tap individual letters out. It is a great tool and many Android users have adopted its use, some even wondering how they managed to type without Swype before this. Well it looks like Windows Phone 7 doesn’t want to be left behind either as the Windows Phone 7’s answer to Swype has been created by developers Invoke IT, with the tool being known as the Sliding Keyboard (zero points for originality).

It looks and feels very much like the Windows Phone 7 keyboard except with sliding capabilities, much like Swype although at the moment, its current version has been reported to be pretty poor at word recognition, although we’re guessing that along the way and over the various improvements things will start to pick up, much like how Swype has evolved into a really fantastic tool today. It will set you back $1.29 but comes with other features built into it, such as options for sending email, searching Bing or sending a text message.
