Good news Singaporeans, especially those of you who are serving in the army, because according to the Defence Ministry of Singapore, 8,000 iPads will be handed out to new recruits this year. The idea behind this move is to equip their soldiers with tools of communication, allow them to snap photos and videos with the iPad, which will then be uploaded to a central database. The iPads will also allow for messaging between officers and other soldiers as well. Customized apps are also in talks of being made by private contractors. It looks like they also have plans to expand the plan next year, let’s just hope that their troops don’t get caught up playing Angry Birds instead of focusing on the enemy!
