If you were worried about app support for your brand new Nokia N9 it looks like there might be an alternative. No it’s not from Symbian or Windows Phone 7, but rather a competitor – Android, and it’s all thanks to a software known as Alien Dalvik which allows the use of non-customize Android apps to be run on non-Android devices, i.e. the Nokia N9. The idea behind it is that the software will make full use of the hardware on the device bringing the user experience to what an Android user would be experiencing if they ran it on an Android device.
The software also emulates the hardware controls on Android devices so the application can be controlled on a non-Android device. Myriad, the developers behind the Alien Dalvik software have said that a MeeGo version will be available some time later this year, which is great news for N9 users.
