Nuance’s Dragon Remote Mic For iPhone

Published

on

So despite Apple, Nuance and Siri working together to produce better integrated voice recognition technology into iOS 5, it did not stop Nuance from releasing their Dragon Remote Mic app which basically allows the user to transform their iPhone into a mic to be used with their computers to dictate or control applications by the voice, which will be spoken into their iPhones.

The bad news is that while the app is free, you are required to have Dragon Premium, Professional, or Legal version 11.5 installed on your computer first before the app is usable. On top of that the app and the computer needs to be connected to the same WiFi network, meaning if you’re in a place without WiFi you will not be able to get the app to work with your computer.

Check out the demo video at MobileBurn’s website to see it in action, and if anything, this could be a good indication of how voice recognition in iOS 5 will be like, or at the very least what we can expect to see in iOS 5.
