Nokia 700 Zeta is thinnest smartphone to date?

Thin is in – and we have taken a look at a quartet of upcoming Nokia handsets which will sport at least a 1GHz processor yesterday. Well, more details have been shed on one of them, with the Nokia 700 “Zeta” touted to be the “thinnest smartphone ever”, measuring 10mm thick. Hopefully by the time it makes its way to the market in Q3 later this year, it is able to retain said “title”.

Touted to be the replacement for the C6-01, the Nokia 700 will run on Symbian Belle, which is Anna’s successor, sporting a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and NFC support to boot. We do know that it will come with a 1GHz processor, accompanied by a 3.2″ nHD AMOLED display, while tipping the scales at slightly more than 80 grams. No idea on why it is said to be the thinnest smartphone ever when 10mm isn’t anywhere close to picking up that title. Perhaps Nokia’s engineers are stuck in some time frame of yore…
