No Panasonic Android Phones Coming To US

Last year we reported that Panasonic was in talks about getting into the smartphone game. According to the head of their mobile communications unit, Osamu Waki, “We misjudged the speed at which smartphones would be taken up in the Japanese market.” While better late than never, it looks like if you were hoping for more alternatives to the current barrage of phones hitting the US market, Panasonic will not be making any appearances in US smartphone markets any time soon due to high competition.

Perhaps they’re hoping to gain some traction in the Japan market and establish a reputation before heading over to the US, with their first Android device, the P-07C which will be carried by Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo. The device will be sporting a 4.3-inch touchscreen and runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3.

If you’re curious about this device and want to see it in action, just head on down to YouTube for the video.
