MeiYing Tablet With Custom Android 2.3 UI

Readers in China if you were hoping for alternatives to all the tablets out there by Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Apple, etc why not check out your home brand – MeiYing? Granted it is a relatively obscure brand (which some of you can probably choose to call “underground”)  but the specifications that it brings along could potentially give the big boys a run for their money.

It will be running on a 1.3GHz CPU with 512MB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It sports a 3MP camera on the front and a 2MP around back along with an HDMI out, USB host and client ports. An 8-inch display with multitoch capacitive touch screen will also be part of the tablet. It will also be running on Android Gingerbread 2.3 with their very own custom user interface as pictured above and judging by the looks alone it is a pretty sleek looking interface.

Not sure how it actually performs compared to some of the bigger brands but don’t you agree that on paper the MeiYing tablet does look like it could make a pretty good contender?
