Is iRiver Coming Out With Their Own Tablet?

Published

on

iRiver is a brand from South Korea, and they used to be known for their MP3 players and PMP (portable media players), or at least until Apple introduced the iPhone. Well if the leaks and rumors are true, it looks like iRiver is set to release their own line of tablets that will be running on Android.

The tablet is supposedly named the iRiver MX100 and it is said to be featuring a 7-inch display, running on a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird chip (S5PC110), Android’s Froyo 2.2, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. These specs aren’t exactly the most high end of specs, so we’re guessing the MX100 will not be overly expensive.

None of these specs can be confirmed since there has been no word from iRiver regarding this device, although it has shown up in a television commercial which can be viewed here. The tablet shows up close to the end and it is not to be mistaken for the Galaxy Tab. Since they were known for their MP3 players and PMP’s in the past, do you think they might be able to achieve that same level of success with their tablet?
