iPhone Users Get Paid For Performing Location Based Tasks

In North America a similar service is already available, known as Gigwalk which was launched in May and collaborated with TomTom as their brand partner but now it looks like Dutch iOS users will be able to enjoy something similar with Roamler. Right now the app is in beta and is only invitation only.

Basically for those who are unfamiliar with location based tasks, users with the app will be notified by companies in their current vicinity about certain tasks that are required to be completed, for instance taking a photo of a potential retail site or verifying product placement. The companies provide the task to Roamler (or another similar service like Gigwalk) who in turns puts the word out to users within that area.

If the user completes the tasks they will be awarded points and get paid anywhere from 2 – 4 Euros and the higher the climb through the accumulation of their points, the harder the task will be and the more money they will be able to earn. If you’ve ever played an RPG video game you could compare it to levelling up a character and getting more experience points and gold as you go along.

Since it’s all location based it doesn’t really inconvenience anyone, so if you happen to be in the area and you want to earn some extra money you wouldn’t need to spend a lot of time or go out of your way to get it done. Head on down to YouTube for the video and explanation of the app in demo.
