iPhone 4 Is The Most Popular Camera On Flickr

A while back we reported that according the Flickr statistics, Apple’s iPad 2’s camera was sorely under used compared to its other iOS brethren, like the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and the latest iPhone 4. Now it looks like according to Flickr, the iPhone 4 is considered to be their most popular camera, and it’s no wonder with its 5MP sensor and with the added bonus of having a LED flash, the iPhone 4 camera is going to places where the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS have not yet been before, namely night/dark shots.

It is even doing so well that it managed to beat out dedicated cameras such as the Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 5D Mark II which is pretty impressive. We’re guessing that the iPhone 4’s camera success had to do with the fact that it was so readily available unlike DSLRs which aren’t as convenient, not to mention the plethora of iOS photography apps (i.e. Hipstamatic, Instagram, HDR Pro, Color Splash, etc) that makes taking and editing photos a fun and easy thing to do. No need to fiddle with knobs and buttons and having to memorize the appropriate ISO’s and F-stops.
