iOS 5 To Support 2X Resolution, Just Right For iPad 3?

With the iPad 2 released a couple months back, it’s only a matter of time before the iPad 3 rumors starting coming. With the iPad 2 there were many who were disappointed with the camera quality and more importantly many were rather surprised and not to mention disappointed, to find out that the iPad 2 would not be coming shipped with the Retina Display that made the iPhone 4 such a hit.

However with the release of iOS 5 which we assume would be making its way to the next generation iPhone and iPad, it looks like someone who has been digging around the iOS 5’s beta kit has discovered through the Twitter framework that 2x the resolution will be built into iOS 5. As it stands the current resolution of the iPad is at 768 x 1024, so 2x the resolution means that we could possibly see a 1536 x 2048 resolution make an appearance in the iPad 3.

True or not we have no idea but for Apple to release an iPad 3 with no upgrade to the display would just be asking for a lot public outrage from Apple fans and users alike. However these are just rumors for now, so best taken with a grain of salt.
