iOS 5 Supports 1080p Videos?

After more digging around the iOS 5 beta developer’s kit, it seems that some have uncovered some code that looks like what could be support for 1080p video rendering and video exporting on A4 powered devices i.e. iPad 1 and iPad 2 and the iPhone 4. This further supports the rumors that the next generation iPhone will be sporting a 8MP camera along with 1080p video capture as there is no point in having iOS 5 support 1080p video if the users aren’t able to capture the quality themselves.

For the layman what this means is that you will now be able to upload videos of 1080p quality onto your A4 powered iOS 5 device, which will then scale down to your device’s display resolution, and enjoy playback that runs smoothly without any hiccups. It’s about time that Apple finally gets to play such high quality videos which have been the selling point of some Android phones, so hopefully this new feature will be what converts some Android users or those who are on the fence to hop over to the next generation iPhone.
