In a way kind of like how messages get a short vibration while phone calls get a long vibration, one of the new features that iOS 5 is bringing to the table is custom vibrations for your incoming calls, meaning that you could set a series of short vibrations for your boy/girlfriend to mimic how fast your heart beats when you hear their voice, or you could go with a long drawn out vibration, like the feeling of dread when the boss calls you on a Sunday afternoon. More practical purposes could be like in a cinema or a meeting where you can’t answer your phone, custom vibrations could indicate who the caller might be, so if it’s set to your wife or parents perhaps it could be important enough for you to excuse yourself and answer the call.
As you can see in the menu on the left, you have the option on enabling LED flash for alerts as well which we can only guess will be rather annoying but eye catching. Anyway this is just another one of the many features of the new iOS 5, stay tuned as we bring you more as they develop.
