HTC Sensation Plagued By “Death Grip” Issues

Published

on

When the iPhone 4 first came out one of the biggest issues that it faced was the infamous “death grip” which would suddenly kill the phone’s network signal suddenly while during a phone call. In a couple of tests that was conducted by NordicHardware by using a signal measuring app and regular audio apps showed that the phone was rapidly losing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi signal even just by placing the device on a flat palm.

This fault is attributed to the unibody aluminium design which requires part of the phone’s casing to be plastic in order for the wireless signal to pass through. Surprisingly this seems to affect the Sensation more than it does other HTC phones of similar construction, such as the HTC Desire and HTC Legend. If you want to check out the signal losses in action, check out the videos on YouTube here and here.
