HTC Looking To Make Thinner Devices?

Published

According to Digitimes, HTC has reportedly commissioned chassis maker Chenming to produce new handset chassis’s for their upcoming smartphones and what makes this technology unique is that it combines metal and plastic together. Typically metal chassis’s cause interference with phone reception which is why phones usually have a section of their phone that is made of plastic which allows the radio signals to pass through at a fuller strength.

Chenming NanoMolding Technology allows for the use of metal and plastic to be combined and mixed which would help reduce signal interference and at the same time allow for thinner and stronger handsets, while in the past handsets would rely on taping plastic and metal together which produced unwanted thickness.

If this is true I guess we can start looking forward to thinner looking HTC devices soon, which is great because as it stands now HTC’s devices are exactly the thinner smartphones on the market, perhaps they’re trying to appeal to those who prioritize the size and thickness of the phone as a buying factor.
