HTC EVO 4G’s Gingerbread Update Brings About Problems

Published

on

HTC EVO 4G users who have updated to the Android Gingerbread 2.3 operating system may be facing some problems as reported by several users in forums. The update which not only brought the operating system up to Gingerbread 2.3 but at the same time was supposed to fix problems like the random recipient of text messages problem, email attachments not being displayed in the stock mail client problem, and the battery discharge issue but it looks like users have been getting more than they bargained for.

Apparently compasses do not work as they are supposed to, the Sense UI that HTC uses constantly locks up, speech to text is having some issues, power button no longer mutes the phone or puts it on silent and also apparently Netflix does not work anymore after the update.

Seems like a whole bunch of problems, one has to wonder if Sprint bothered with the testing of this update before pushing it out to their subscribers, either way it looks like many users are demanding a fix to the update, an update that was supposed to bring improvements to the device, not break it. Any of our readers with the HTV EVO 4G experiencing similar or different issues after the update?
