HP Looking For NFC Engineer For Their Smartphones And Tablets?

Manufacturer wise NFC seems to be a huge deal, among consumers, not so much – yet, but yet HP is looking jump aboard the NFC bandwagon as they have recently posted a job listing, looking for a NFC engineer to be on HP’s smartphone and tablet team.

As it stands HP already has a technology of their own called Touch-to-share which functions almost the same as NFC but we’re guessing it’s either not performing up to their expectations or that NFC has caught on among manufacturers faster than they had intended and they did not want to be left standing alone with their own proprietary technology, which assuming Google Wallet and NFC mobile payment services take off, will not be compatible with their Touch-to-share.

Of course this does not mean that HP will be dropping their Touch-to-share feature, perhaps they could be looking to incorporate both technologies into their future devices, one which would be exclusive to HP and webOS products and the other that would work fine with other NFC enabled devices.
