Dell’s Prototype 7-inch Split Keyboard Slider Leaked

It looks like a photo of Dell’s prototype 7-inch slideout keyboard has been leaked and by the looks of it instead of a traditional keyboard layout, dell has instead opted for the split key feature, allowing for thumb typing which probably makes more sense on a smaller device. This device was not mentioned on Dell’s previously leaked road map which means we won’t be seeing this device any time soon.

It is unclear what operating system Dell will be loading onto the device, some have speculated that perhaps we will be seeing Windows 8 on the tablet due to the operating system supporting the split keyboard setup, or perhaps it will follow in the footsteps of their Streak devices and be loaded with Android instead, perhaps Ice Cream Sandwich?

The design of the device looks pretty good and has promise, so stay tuned as we wait for more details about this device to be revealed.
