Android Honeycomb 3.2 Supports 7-inch Tablets

A while back we had reported that Acer was delaying their 7-inch tablet because the original Android Honeycomb 3.0 operating system, which while was designed for tablets in mind, did not support smaller tablets such a 7-inch models, preferring screen sizes of 10-inches and above. Well when the Huawei MediaPad was announced, one of its specs was that it would be running on Android’s Honeycomb 3.2 operating system which was the first we’ve heard of it and we’re guessing the MediaPad will be the first 7-inch tablet to run on the Honeycomb 3.2 operating system.

So apart from support of 7-inch tablets, what else does the 3.2 version of Honeycomb bring to the table? For starters it comes with support for devices running on the Qualcomm processor, meaning the HTC Flyer will be eligible for an upgrade along with other tablets running on Honeycomb 3.1. Along with the update it will also include bug fixes, improved hardware acceleration, new versions of Movie Studio, Movies, Music and updated widgets.

No word from Google regarding this 3.2 update and when we can officially start seeing the updates but we’re guessing if the Huawei MediaPad already has it then updates should be coming in the next few weeks.
