If you were hoping for the 4G version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to hit before you went out and bought it, good news because Verizon has just gone official with their plans to launch a 4G version of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 which you will be able to pre-order come June 8th, but only if you are willing to pay the rather steep price of $529.99 on a two-year contract for the 16 GB model and $629.99 for the 32 GB version. Ouch.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be packing a 10.1 inch touchscreen with a 1280 x 800 resolution, while running on a dual-core 1 GHz Tegra 2 processor. It also has a 3MPcamera in the rear plus a 2MP camera on the front, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, and will ship with Android’s Honeycomb 3.1.

Specifications wise this tablet proves to be a rather solid alternative to the iPad 2 not to mention the fact that you will be experiencing blazing fast 4G LTE speeds in the 4G version should sway some iPad 2 would-be buyers over to Android, but at those prices, would you be willing to pay for it?
