If you want to enjoy the services of Google’s new NFC payment service, Google Wallet, but you don’t own the Nexus S and you think that the home made Arduino NFC kit is too bulky and ugly, well here’s an alternative. A company by the name of Netcom has come up with a solution and it is through the use of micro SD cards with NFC transmitters built into them. The only catch is that it won’t function in a metallica SD slot so if your device is a solid piece of plastic, like the Evo then it shouldn’t be a problem.
Another downside is that due to the transmitters being so tiny it would be a bit hard to find that sweet spot but other than that it’s a great alternative for non-iOS devices at least. If you want to see it in action check out the video here.
