Visa To Enter the NFC Fray

With all the buzz that’s going around with regards to NFC, whether you think it’s a novel concept or has real world usefulness, it seems that Visa has decided to enter the fray with their very own Visa digital wallet which basically allows you to store all your financial data into one secure, digital wallet which can be used on all your devices.

In a video by Visa demonstrating the concept of the digital wallet, what they are attempting to do is to basically make payments a little easier and convenient for the user rather than having to dig out your credit card, enter the information one at a time before making the purchase. The digital wallet concept seems to be a rather smooth and seamless process and by utilizing NFC technology on phones they are basically taking the concept behind the Visa Wave and transferring it onto the phone.

While this is a very interesting concept and a great example of NFC technology being used, the old saying “don’t put all your eggs into one basket” springs to mind, but I am pretty sure the folks at Visa will come up with solutions in order to make this process a little more secure.
