T-Mobile WiFi Calling No Longer Consumes Your Minutes
T-Mobile customers will be pleased to know that any calls made with their WiFi calling enabled phones will no longer be subtracted from their plan’s minutes. It used to be that T-Mobile would deduct minutes from the plan even though the call was made using a private WiFi network, but thanks to leaked internal documents it seems that effective May 11th the minutes will no longer be deducted from your plan.
If you own a WiFi calling capable device you will be notified of these changes via SMS. If you still have not activated the WiFi calling feature now seems like as good a time as any and you may activate it via T-Mobile’s website or by calling in to customer service. Seems rather generous of T-Mobile if you ask me, perhaps it’s one of their tactics to retain customers.
Question – do you think this will continue to be active even after the acquisition by AT&T?
