Sony Ericsson has announced that they will be launching the Xperia arco in Japan. Yes you read that right and no it’s not a typo. The Xperia arco will be the brother of their flagship phone the Xperia arc, except that the arco will be for the Japanese market which means that it will pretty much sport all the same features such as a 4.2-inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, a 8.1-megapixel camera with “Exmor R for mobile” technology that enables capturing of low-noise, high quality images and 720p HD video even while in low light conditions. It will also be running on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 operating system.
Some extra features that are included in the Japanese version are mobile TV functionality as well as NFC support, which is a given considering this is Japan where NFC technology is widely used, especially in their mass-transit networks.
The Xperia arco will be available in black or white.
