Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Rooted In One Day

So it seems that by giving 5,000 developers an unreleased Honeycomb tablet is similar to giving a child candy and telling him not to eat it. What is he going to do? Eat it of course! In this case it seems a handful of people have managed to root the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in less than a day.

Nick Gray at Android And Me seems to think it’s a fair easy and straightforward process – “Rooting the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 appears to be a fairly simple process.  Simply mount the tablet’s file system, adb a zip file and then reboot the tablet. “

I am pretty sure when Google handed out the free tablet to those 5,000 developers they had probably hoped that maybe those developers would go back and develop some apps for the Honeycomb tablet. I’m pretty sure rooting the tablet was not what Google had in mind, perhaps next year’s I/O will not come with free tablets.
