Samsung Galaxy S II To Launch In India

It looks like things are starting to pickup in India in terms of the smartphone market, what with the iPhone 4 set to arrive in India come May 27th. Now it seems that India will be getting their hands on yet another popular phone, this time it will be the Android device, the Samsung Galaxy S II.

It will be making its way to India June 3rd and it will be carried by Vodafone and it will be priced at Rs.32,890 which roughly converts to about $725.88, which is about $40 cheaper than the iPhone 4.

Interested customers can pre-order their phones via Samsung’s website from May 26th onwards for a deposit of Rs.1000 although it does seems like Vodafone customers will have the privilege of getting the device first, followed by other Samsung retail outlets in India where the device will be available from June 9th onwards. Vodafone customers will also be offered 6 GB of free data usage which is capped at 1GB per month for the next 6 months.

At the rate they’re going, I wonder what other high-end Android/WP7 device they will be seeing next? Possibly tablets too?
