Police Scanner Apps Could Land You In Jail

I’m not sure what to make of this, perhaps a novelty or something to do to pass time, or perhaps used for some vigilante justice or maybe for Matthew Hale, a great way to keep ahead of the police by listening in to the police scanners. If you happen to own any of these apps on your Android device you best make sure that you do not get caught with it because apparently in some states it is illegal to use a mobile police scanner without the proper license, in this case you would require a ham radio license.

I guess even possession of the apps is warrant enough to get charged for it as a man in Kentucky found out rather unfortunately. With all the apps out there I am pretty sure there are better ways to pass the time, and besides if real life drama and excitement is what you’re after, there’s always reality tv. All in all, it’s best advised to delete those apps if you have them installed because we really do not condone law breaking.
