Nokia’s WP7 Devices Not To Feature Nokia Maps

According to Phones Scoop, Microsoft spokesperson Greg Sullivan has said that Microsoft will not be using Nokia Maps but rather they will stick to Bing Maps instead for the release of the Windows Phone 7 Mango update. Sullivan has said that the integration of the maps will not be ready so soon that’s why the merged product will not be ready for the release of Mango.

This isn’t really all that surprising considering Nokia will be sporting the Windows Phone 7 operating system, so why would Microsoft opt to use Nokia Maps instead when it has Bing Maps? Those familiar with Nokia Maps should probably start taking a look at Bing Maps to familiarize themselves if they intend to purchase a Nokia WP7 device, which according to Sullivan should be ready early 2012.
