Motorola’s Droid X2 has not been very secretive at all – we have caught its boot sequence on video before, alongside someone benchmarking it, while having its press shots leaked – but at long last, the veil of mystery concerning its list of specifications has been released, and the remaining blanks can be filled. Also known as the Daytona and MB870, the Droid X2 will sport a 4.3″ touchscreen display, a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2-powered device with qHD resolution, an eight-megapixel camera, 512MB RAM and 8GB ROM to accompany this puppy as well.

One can also expect Android 2.2 Froyo (that’s the bare minimum for new smartphones these days where Android is concerned), although we are certainly holding out for Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead.

You will be able to hook up the Droid X2 via EV-DO Rev. A mobile broadband, while Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n connectivity has you covered in terms of keeping up with the times. As for sensors, you get the full array of proximity, light, accelerometer and e-compass.

The Droid X2 has started to show up on Verizon’s system alongside third party retailers, so a launch is imminent – perhaps priced at $199.99 tops with a new 2-year contract?
